Ophthalmologist

Duties and Responsibilities:
While ophthalmologists can be thought of generically as 'eye doctors' and perform some of the same duties as optometrists, they differ in that ophthalmologist perform eye surgery and treat eye diseases. Ophthalmologists also examine eyes and prescribe contact lenses and glasses.
Salary:  Males: $300,000 Females: $256,000
Education:
Ophthalmologist Degrees and Education Requirements. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors who treat diseases of the eyes. In order to become an ophthalmologist, students typically complete a bachelor's program, a 4-year Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program and a 3-year ophthalmology residency in a hospital.
Demand or Need for this profession:
Employment of physicians and surgeons is projected to grow 14 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. The growing and aging population is expected to drive overall growth in the demand for physician services as consumers continue to seek high levels of care that uses the latest technologies, diagnostic tests, and therapies.

I would like to become one because i lik eto money an ophthalmologist makes. I would also like to be one because i like helping people.
