Health Science Librarian

Duties and responsibilities:

Health science librarians help health providers, patients, and students sort through the vast amount of information available. Health science librarians work in a variety of places such as the library of a health organization, a pharmaceutical company, health information centers, and medical schools.

Salary:

The average salary of all US full-time health sciences librarians was $66,622 per year. The top salaries reported to us in 2012 were in director positions, ranging from a low average of $52,293 to a high average of $116,200 per year.
Education:

Individuals interested in becoming a medical librarian must complete a 4-year baccalaureate program in any discipline they choose. The most common majors for health science librarians include biology, library sciences, management, or health information.

Demand or need for this profession:

Employment of librarians is projected to grow 2 percent from 2014 to 2024, slower than the average for all occupations. Librarians are needed to assist library patrons in locating information and resources, but growth will be limited by budget constraints in local government and educational services.

Thanksgiving Week

One thing I did during my thanksgiving weekend was that I went to my aunt's house. When I was there, we had a thanksgiving meal, but I don’t like turkey so all I had was mash potatoes. Also, this pass week I had to do homework. It was difficult because I had to do a brochure about the medical topics like Goat or Lupus. I had trouble because I didn’t know how to make a brochure on google docs or microsoft word. I personally don’t like going shopping during black friday because I find that very stupid that people try to buy this that they don’t need. They just buy it because it's on sale. But most of the week I relaxed. It was a nice week.

  This quote is basically saying that any bad action that is offered to you, do not do it because deep in you, you don’t want to do it and you know it’s wrong and should give it up. And if you did something wrong and trying to cover it up with a lie because with that one lie you are affecting many other people and if you say some lie it's better to not say it.

Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in Canada and the United States. It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, it has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well.

Reflection:

I enjoy celebrating thanksgiving, it's one of my favorite holidays . Here are some examples of what i am thankful for:

What this means is that winning or losing isn’t always important. Doing the right thing is though. Another way to say it is that you win or lose things but as long as you know you tried. Winning isn’t always good. Especially what you won. If you won something that is bad, then you shouldn’t be proud. If you lost a game or something you shouldn’t be sad. Winning isn’t always important. As long as you enjoy what you’re doing and having fun, then it’s okay. Choose The Right!

For the first one it means to say no when something is wrong. For example, if you are with a “friend” and they offer you drugs. You know drugs are wrong. You need to say no because you know it is wrong. For the 2nd one, you need to accept what is right from wrong. For example, if your friend offers you an alcoholic beverage, and you think that one won’t hurt. You need to have the courage to face the truth and not drink it. Why?, because it is wrong. For the 3rd one, If there is a movie on T.V., but you haven’t started on your homework. You need to do what’s right. The right thing to do is do your homework. It is more important than watching a movie.

Vanguard High School

            This video we watch was about a basketball team (Gainesville Tornadoes) who almost never had fans cheer for them during their basketball games. So what the opposing team (Vanguard) was that they asked some of their own fans and cheerleaders to cheer for Gainesville basketball team. They were shocked because they weren't used to this situation.
