Duties and Responsibilities:

Mental health counseling is what people typically think of when they hear the word counseling, but counselors' actual job duties may go well beyond what people imagine. Clinical counselors do indeed talk people through problems. In many cases, though, they diagnose as well as treat mental illness.

Education:

In order to become a licensed mental health counselor in most states, a master's degree is required. Schools offer master's degrees in counseling, psychology and other related mental health fields.

Demand or Need for this profession:

Employment of mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists is projected to grow 19 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. Growth is expected in both occupations as more people have mental health counseling services covered by their insurance policies.

I would not like to be one because i don’t like hearing other people’s problems or concerns. I also would not like to become one because I would like to make a little more money.
